July 2021 Newsletter
Keep up to date with news from across both sites and upcoming events with our monthly newsletters.
We are pleased that the government has announced that England will move to the final stage of easing COVID restrictions today. The uptake of vaccinations by the general population has meant that we are in a better position to face the pandemic. We will continue with the routines that we have established at school until the end of term, but we will carry out a full review of the Risk Assessment in time for the re-opening in September.
The education minister has said that the need for face masks, social distancing measures and staggered start and finish times in schools will be removed from September. However, we are fully aware that the situation can change rapidly, and we will write to you at the end of the summer holidays with confirmation of the arrangements for September.
Our before and after school provision (GEMS) is operating on both sites, and we have spaces. Please enquire at the offices should you wish to know more details.
Is your child going to secondary school in September? Do you have questions? Would you like some support? Parents and carers are invited to a four-session online course in September. Book now: Resilient Transitions for parents in Barking & Dagenham - Bounce Forward
Whilst we do not have a lot of green spaces at Valence, we are proud of the efforts that staff and pupils have made to make the environment as natural as possible. Congratulations to Y4 and Y5 at Bonham for their winning garden designs – see ClassDojo for pictures.
We try to keep parents & carers updated as much as possible with developments at school. Please check your Parentmail and the school website. The office email will be checked regularly during the holiday. If you have any queries or concerns either for the school leadership or the Governors, please write to the office email.
- The younger children love to play with “baby” items - please can we have donations of baby dolls to dress, wash and cuddle, and a cot would be nice too.
- Buckets and spades - don't throw them away – the younger pupils love playing at the beach!
- Trowels and watering cans – send them our way...
- We will also gratefully take your quality books if you no longer need them
