Did you know….?

The amount of time children spent using devices can be harmful or helpful to your child's development. Here are tips to make sure your child benefits from the time spent online: limit children to one hour per day; think carefully about what children are doing while they are online and whether or not it is stimulating; and time spent online should not interfere with family time or school work.

Finally, be clear with your child about why you are limiting their time online and that it is for their benefit.

Looking after planet earth

Pupils are encouraged to use recyclable pots, recycled packaging and less plastic in their packed lunch boxes. The amount of waste we collect at the end of lunchtimes is a concern.

Healthy school

We are continuing to work with families and pupils in the promotion of a healthy diet and lifestyle. One area we have been recommended to follow by the Department of Health is the reduction of sugar in children’s diets. In light of this, it is school policy to allow pupils to have only plain water with their packed lunches. Please do not send in smoothies, yoghurt drinks or squash. The school provides water or milk for all pupils.

Science challenge Write some facts about Garrett Morgan, a famous scientist. Or, make some invisible ink……….

School information

You will find current information and policies here on our school website, which is updated regularly.

GEMS and Breakfast club payments will now be available to pay via Parentmail. If parents have problems with it, please come to the office where a member of the team can help.

Don’t stop……

I am sure that when your children were very young, you did not hesitate to read books to them. Well, don’t stop now that they can read for themselves. Why not choose an exciting story which is too difficult for them to read but which you can read to them? In this way, they will learn lots of new words and enjoy that special time with you.
