Valence Cross Country Success

On Wednesday 2nd October, fifty-four Year 3, 4, 5 and 6 pupils travelled to Mayesbrook Park to take part in the annual Barking and Dagenham Cross Country Championships at Mayesbrook Park.

After wonderful Valence success at last years championships, the pressure was on to produce even more medals this year and the team didn’t disappoint!

Thanks to weeks of training at Mayesbrook park, Valence were victorious in the 1.3 mile run in different year group categories;

Our year 6 boys team came first in the borough, winning gold medals. Also, our year 3 boys team came first in the borough, winning gold medals and our Year 3 girls’ team finished third in the borough, receiving bronze medals.

Valence also had the second-fastest year 6 boy in the borough, Ralu winning a silver medal. The third fastest year 6 boy in the borough was Tochi, winning a bronze medal. The fastest year 4 boy in the borough was our Daniel, coming in first and winning a gold medal and the third fastest girl in the borough was our Arseline, winning a bronze medal.

We also had the fastest year 3 girl in the borough, Chantel receiving a gold medal and the second-fastest girl in the borough was our Laura, winning a silver medal.
